Oh! What Fun! Family Christmas Pics Are!
Terron and I had so much fun this year. We decided to take professional Family Christmas pictures with our blended family of 6! We connected with a local photographer and scheduled a date before Christmas. Our goal was to capture some beautiful Christmas pictures in our pajamas and use those to share seasons greetings. Like last year, we shopped on the Children’s Place website for our family matching pajamas. Children’s Place makes things so easy because they have all sizes for families. I can easily locate pajamas that will fit our 14 month old and fit my husband Terron who is 6’5″ tall! I love our family Christmas picture outfits. We were brave enough to visit a photography studio!
Ummm…I am not going to lie, this was scary at first, because I had to make sure our family was dressed and picture ready before we left our home. Our photography session was a quick 15 minute mini-session. I was terrified that the kids would spill something on their pajamas and get dirty before we could take our pictures. Here are some things that helped me prepare for family photoshoot success:
- Get everyone showered and bathed but don’t get them fully dressed! Put on some chill clothes while you prepare.
- Style all hair. This is major for our family of 6!
- Allow the kids to eat a snack so they are not hungry during the photoshoot.
- Do a clean nose and clean teeth check! Make sure everyone is picture ready.
- Restroom break! Allow everyone to use the restroom before you leave!
- Get everyone dressed for the pictures and immediately load up your vehicle.
Preparation time is NEVER wasted time!
All your hard work and preparation will pay off! When we arrived to the studio we were ready! We rode an elevator and met our photographer. I opted to have our family take pics without shoes. This is why I was not picky about what shoes the kids had on as we traveled to the photography studio.
During our family Christmas pictures photography session Terron and I worked as a team! Here are some pointers to make things go smoothly.
- Listen to the photographer. They are skilled and can handle your family.
- Have fun! When you are having fun, the pressure and stress disappears.
- Be flexible. You may need to revisit certain shots you are attempting. Be patient.
I hope you found some take aways from our family Christmas pictures ideas. Who will schedule family pictures? No matter how big your family may be, you can do it! Are you planning family Christmas pictures soon? Or family pictures for any other occasion? I would love to hear about it! Share details in the comments.
