The “last time theory” really had me thinking.

So I decided to do something a little silly… and a little sentimental. I picked up my three oldest kids for what might be the last time.

Now if you know me, you know these babies will always be my babies. But I thought it would be sweet to capture this moment on camera.

First up was my oldest daughter and listen… she may look lean but that girl is solid muscle. I was fighting for my life trying to lift her 😂

Then came my son who, of course, had to make the whole moment hilarious because that is just his personality.

And surprisingly (or maybe not so surprisingly) my 9 year old ended up being the lightest of the three.

It was such a sweet moment to share with them because naturally I am still picking up my 5 year old, my 3 year old, and my 11 month old all the time. But these big kids are growing fast.

Moments like this remind me that time keeps moving whether we are ready or not. So if there is a chance that this was the last time I picked them up like this… I am glad I captured it. 🤍

How do I homeschool multiple grades without living in constant chaos? For us, it starts with how we move through the day.

In the early years, we did not have a real schedule or routine. We would just begin our homeschool day around the same time and hope everyone finished their lessons early in the day. It worked, but it felt scattered and heavy.

Now our mornings start slow, around 8 to 8:30. The kids start with their Bible lessons and then move into their core work with a mix of video teachers and time with me. Math. Reading. English. They know what comes next, and there is room for questions, mistakes, and a mid morning snack.

After lunch, the energy shifts. We reset with recess and free time, which lets them choose how to move their bodies and their minds. Then we come back together for Science, Heritage Studies, Spelling, and Handwriting. We are in the same room, each child working at their own level, and we pace our day so they are usually in the same subjects around the same time. That way I can rotate my attention instead of splitting in every direction.

Evenings are where real life keeps unfolding. Ninja Warrior, Basketball, Dance. The learning does not stop when the books close. It just looks like confidence, coordination, and kids who know that the world is our classroom.

So no, homeschooling multiple grades is not about doing it all perfectly. It is about building a rhythm that lets everyone grow together. If you are wondering how to make it work with your own kids, consider this your reminder that with a simple plan and a steady pace, it is possible.

February is almost over, and I can’t let it end wi

February is almost over, and I can’t let it end without honoring my Valentine.

Yes, we are parents to six beautiful children. Our life is full, loud, busy, and nonstop. But before we were Mom and Dad, we were two best friends who chose each other. And we are still those two best friends, living our lives for the first time too.

It’s easy to get swallowed up in parenting. To focus on schedules, homeschool, practices, and all the moving parts. To become great co managers of a household.

But we are more than that. We are partners. Teammates. Best friends still figuring life out together.

He is patient when I’m overwhelmed. He balances me out. He steadies our home in ways that are felt every single day.

Loving him is not separate from loving our family. It’s the foundation of it.

So before February ends, I just want to say I love my husband. I love our friendship. And in the middle of raising six children, I would still choose him all over again. 🤍

POV: You were raised in the 90s… and now you’re a mom in 2026 trying to gentle parent kids who are absolutely not gentle.

I came across an amazing post by @iamdrtuesday was inspired and want to make sure I credit her for this idea! 💛

Here’s the thing no one prepared us for.

We were raised on “because I said so,” outside until the street lights came on, and the occasional look that meant don’t even try it. Now we’re out here overriding our millennial factory settings in real time.

Trying to regulate our emotions.
While they are screaming.
While the baby is crying.
While someone is asking for a snack for the 47th time.

And somehow we’re also worried about all the invisible ways we might be traumatizing them if we sigh too loud.

It’s wild.

Some days it feels like I’m fighting for my life to stay calm. Battling overstimulation. Wondering if it’s pre menopause, undiagnosed ADHD, or just motherhood with multiple kids. Too tired for the fancy morning routine. Too busy carrying the mental load. Still trying to hit my protein goals because apparently we are prioritizing ourselves now.

It’s giving breaking cycles and barely hanging on.

But here’s what I’ve learned.

We are not weak for feeling stretched. We are strong for trying to do it differently. For pausing when our default setting says react. For apologizing. For choosing connection over control even when it costs us comfort.

Motherhood did not erase me. It refined me. It made me choose growth over ego. It is messy and loud and beautiful all at once.

So if you are out here trying to gentle parent with a 90s upbringing and some days you feel like you are barely holding it together…

You are not alone.

You are breaking cycles.
You are doing amazing work.
And even on the loud days, you are still a good mom.
