Oh dear Motherhood how I love thee! Honestly if it wasn’t for my love of family, I would have probably had one child and stopped there. Motherhood and maternity are m&m’s for me! Since I was a little girl, I imagined what life would be like as a mother. My thoughts swirled with the idea of getting married, and having children. I absolutely love being pregnant as crazy at it may sound. Motherhood and maternity are topics that have always intrigued me. One of the first things you learn as a new mother to a tiny person is there’s a lot more going on in that little brain than meets the eye. I have definitely depended on tools to help me navigate the unknown with each pregnancy. The milestones for my children are the things that have definitely taken my breath away. Watching them grow and blossom.
Big Family Norms
I am one out of five kids born to Charles and Eva Rogers, my parents. Growing up as the second oldest of five, I quickly developed a love and appreciation for family. My parents raised my brothers and sisters and I to be close. As a result, as young adults we are still close to this day. With every pregnancy I have learned more about Motherhood. I feel like each time I have been pregnant, I have gone through the same initial nervous excitement that comes with realizing you are caring a life inside of your womb. I would dive into intense research over the course of 9 months learning about each stage of the babies development.
Tips for Expecting Moms
Now that you are pregnant, become a student! Learn everything that you can. Gather resources, and make sure you focus in on self care. This is important for you and the beautiful baby that is growing inside of your womb. There were some many things I learned were helpful to me with each pregnancy. I want to share some things I feel are essential for expecting moms. These are just a few things that will help.
Pregnancy Apps
There are a multitude of pregnancy apps to choose from. I would like to recommend 3 apps that I have personally used.
1.) What to Expect– Simply enter your baby’s due date to start tracking your baby’s growth. You will receive personalized information about your baby’s development, articles, tips, helpful tools, and compelling videos.
2.) Pregnancy + | Tracker App– See your baby’s development weekly with 3D models. The app provides baby size guides, week-by-week guides to help you understand what to expect weekly, and se an informative pregnancy timeline to highlight milestones during your pregnancy.
3.) Pregnancy Tracker– Baby Center- Enjoy a countdown until your baby is born. Watch fetal development videos, see which foods and activities are safe and which you should avoid. Get tips on what baby products to purchase. Join a community for support.
Preparing for Delivery
Towards the end of each pregnancy without fail, I kick into severe “nesting” mode. When I get closer to delivery, I turn into an extreme planner and begin planning all of the details, from the hospital bag, to the baby nursery. I absolutely love being a mom. I know that I am not perfect, but I refuse to let that stop me from making daily improvements while raising my children.

In This Together
It truly takes a village to raise a child. I have gleaned and learned about motherhood from a variety of sources and will continue learning. One way that I learn is to read and surround myself with inspirational motherhood quotes. I have made a lifelong commitment to improving my motherhood. I get inspired by other mama’s who are creative and who share the highs and lows of parenting. Shine on! I am definitely watching and taking notes. It is nice to know that there are other powerful mothers around the world, who have faced similar challenges, and have found solutions. I have other Motherhood articles on my blog. Check them out here! My desire is to share what I have learned. What are some things that help you thrive as a mother? Feel free to share tips and pointers with me in the comments about motherhood maternity.
Love,
~Gervase
